Board Secretary

Robertson-Wesley is currently seeking a detail-oriented member of our community to fill the role of Board Secretary. This position is essential for the smooth governance and transparency of our congregation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recording: Taking accurate minutes at all Board and Congregational meetings.

  • Coordination: Signing and distributing minutes to board members and the office administrator within one week of meetings.

  • Commitment: A two-year term, with an option to renew for a second term.

Skills Required: We are looking for someone with good listening skills, the ability to record discussions accurately, organization, familiarity and efficiency using computers.

Incoming Board Chair

Are you a leader with a heart for community and a vision for the future? Robertson-Wesley is looking for an Incoming Board Chair to join our leadership "triad" and help guide our congregation’s mission and ministry.

This unique role is designed for someone who wants to grow into leadership. You will spend your first year being mentored by the current Chair, learning the inner workings of our church, and preparing to take the helm.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a natural facilitator and diplomat with strong listening skills.

  • Can identify the unique skills and resources within our congregation.

  • Has a basic understanding of budgets and parliamentary procedure (or a willingness to learn!).

  • Communicates with clarity and warmth.

The Commitment: A three-year leadership journey (1 year as Incoming Chair, 1 year as Board Chair, and 1 year as Past Board Chair).

Treasurer

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys "the numbers" and wants to ensure our church remains financially healthy and transparent. You’ll be the point person for our budget and financial reporting, spending about 8 hours a month helping our congregation thrive.

Why join us? You won't be doing it alone! We have a dedicated Finance Committee and past treasurers who are ready to support you and fill in when you’re away.

Requirements: 5+ years of accounting experience and a 2-year commitment.

Community Dinner

Leadership

Chair of Ministry & Personnel (M&P)
Lead our M&P committee, supporting staff and overseeing the relationship between staff and the congregation. Involves attending monthly board meetings and liaising with the Regional Council.

  • Support the ministers and music team by helping with ushering, scripture readings, communion, and maintaining the worship environment

  • Help serve communion during services. No experience? No problem! We’ll guide you through it.

  • Encourage legacy giving and special gifts to support Robertson-Wesley’s mission. Help facilitate workshops and conversations about planned giving.

  • Visit and offer companionship to those in need of connection and support.

  • Read a scripture during Sunday worship. We’ll send you the reading ahead of time to practice.
