Outreach
Outreach & Volunteering
At Robertson-Wesley, we’re always looking for volunteers to help in various areas of our ministry. We believe in sharing the responsibilities, so no one is expected to serve forever—we take turns and work together. As our church continues to grow and expand its outreach, there are always new opportunities to get involved and be a part of our ever-blossoming community. We’d love for you to join us and make a difference!
Food Bank Depot
We’re deeply committed to serving our community through a variety of outreach programs. Every Wednesday, our church transforms into a Food Bank Depot, where individuals can pick up their hampers ordered through the Edmonton Food Bank. Volunteers play a vital role by helping with setup, unloading trucks, checking IDs, and distributing food, while also welcoming and connecting with clients.
The Magic Pantry
In addition to the Food Bank, we run the Magic Pantry, a program that provides ready-to-eat bagged lunches to those in need. Available on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, this initiative ensures that no one in our community goes hungry.
Community Dinner in Memorial Hall
Once a month, we host a Community Dinner in Memorial Hall, offering a free hot meal to up to 200 people. Volunteers handle everything from meal preparation to serving and cleanup. We alternate this event with Christ Church Anglican to ensure two dinners are held monthly, and everyone is welcome to join.
Community Support
Our support extends to various organizations serving Edmonton's inner city, including Operation Friendship, Inner-City Pastoral Ministry (ICPM), and the Bissell Centre.
Through funding, food donations, and volunteering, we are proud to contribute to their efforts to provide essential services and support to those in need.
