Drag: Beyond the Performance invites the community to look beyond the stage and discover the lived experiences, journeys, and perspectives of local drag artists and 2S & LGBTQIA+ community members. Through personal readings, conversations, and opportunities to ask respectful questions, participants will gain a deeper understanding of identity, creativity, resilience, and belonging.

Spill the Tea: Workplace Inclusion
Robertson-Wesley United Church and Kirk Centre present: “Spill The Tea: Readings from the 2SLGBTQIA+ Human Library”
Each month a different subject matter expert presents on a given topic within the 2SLGBTQIA+ experience that they have intimate knowledge of. Afterwards there will be ample time to ask the speaker questions on that subject, followed by table conversations and refreshments.
Maybe there are things you don't feel comfortable asking just a random person or loved one, or have an awkward or sensitive question? All are encouraged. This will be a safe place for genuine curiosity and compassionate learning. No need to identify as queer, or even know anyone who identifies as 2SLGBTQIA, to want to improve your allyship and awareness of the community. This is family friendly and all ages are welcome to participate. ASL interpretation included.

SPIRITED ART STUDIO: FIRST ARTIST MARKET
Meet the artists of the Monday and Wednesday Spirited Art Studio. Buy art made in-studio directly from the artists. Learn about this free weekly program and Make a small piece of art to take home. Come to the Artist Market on Saturday, May 30th from 2-4 pm in Memorial Hall. Drinks and Snacks also available for purchase. All funds go to the studio program and contributing artists. Wild Church - Forest Therapy
Wild Church is very excited to be hosting a Forest Therapy session with Kathleen Mpulubusi (ANFT Certified Guide). Kathleen writes that, “A Forest Therapy walk is at a slow pace (about 2 hours long) with different sensory invitations for participants to help them connect with the forest and themselves”.
The session will be at the Dunluce Treestand (eastern side of 121 Street between 159 and 161 Avenue) on May 17 at 1:00 pm. No cost to attend but registration is required by May 11 (https://rwuc.chmeetings.com/events/03B8BD03519FE7DC). 15 spots available. Carpool from RWUC available. Rain or shine. Cancelled if Air Quality Index is 7 or higher.

Maybe there are things you don't feel comfortable asking just a random person or loved one, or have an awkward or sensitive question? All are encouraged. This will be a safe place for genuine curiosity and compassionate learning. No need to identify as queer, or even know anyone who identifies as 2SLGBTQIA, to want to improve your allyship and awareness of the community. This is family friendly and all ages are welcome to participate. ASL interpretation included.

Discipleship Class
Discipleship class - For 5 weeks from 7:00 - 8:30 pm on Wednesdays (April 29, May 6, 13, 20, 27) in the Club Room. This is an opportunity to talk about your faith, to learn about God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. It is also an opportunity to learn about the history, polity and faith practice of The United Church of Canada, and how we live out our faith in the world. After the class you will be asked to discern for yourselves whether or not you wish to publicly proclaim your commitment in this dynamic faith organization and formalize your membership. Good Friday Service
On Good Friday we gather in reflection to hear the sacred story of Jesus’ suffering and death on the cross. Through scripture, silence, prayer, and music, we walk the path to the cross and remember the depth of love revealed in this holy moment. Art Supply Swap
Just like a clothing swap the entire event is part of the giving economy - no money involved. Bring art supplies from home that are no longer being used. Offered items will be added to others’ and any art studio clear outs. All will be organized onto tables and then made available on Sunday, March 15 after worship for anyone to come browse. Rehome whatever amount of supplies you wish to. Anyone can participate swap in whatever capacity, you do not have to be an art studio participant.
Offerings can be dropped of to the art studio during the week of March 9, up to 10:30 am on March 15. Bring as much as you want, take what you will use and are excited about. Brought nothing? no problem, take stuff home! Don’t want to add more to your supplies? Just donating is great, too. Come and join us on Sunday, March 15, 11:30 am - 2:00 pm in Lower Hall.
Acceptable items: Clean, *useable*, art supplies in good condition, grocery bags
Items not accepted: oil paints and related (no chemical), recycling (pill bottles, jars, trays etc.), paper products (plates, cardboard etc.), scraps of anything, nearly empty, broken or dried up materials.
*If you can’t use it, neither can the studio*
The Library is Open
A new learning series: “Spill The T: Readings from the 2SLGBTQIA+ Human Library” is coming to Robertson-Wesley this spring. In partnership with Kirk Centre, it will be held on the second Friday evenings in March, April and May (with potential for more). What is it? Each month a different subject matter expert will present on a given topic within the 2SLGBTQIA+ experience that they have intimate knowledge of. Afterwards there will be ample time for the audience to ask questions of the speaker on that subject, followed by table conversations over refreshments.
Maybe there are things you don't feel comfortable asking just a random person or loved one, or have an awkward or sensitive question? All are encouraged. This will be a safe place for genuine curiosity and learning (not for put downs or debates!). You do not need to identify as a queer person, or even know anyone who identifies as 2SLGBTQIA, to want to improve your allyship and awareness of the community. This is family friendly and all ages are welcome to participate.
Youth Group and SoulOuting (or affirming related) folk are especially encouraged to fill out the form here to help determine what topics the community are interested in.
