Koinonia

casual style worship and fellowship

Fellowship

Meaning “fellowship” in Greek, KOINONIA is a monthly Alternative Worship and Fellowship service emphasizing informality, fellowship and lay leadership. Koinonia’s nearly forty-year history is unique among Edmonton United churches and for many participants, has been instrumental in developing knowledge and confidence in expressing their faith. Teams of 3 to 5 lay leaders (with some help by the ministerial staff) plan and lead each service.

Program

Koinonia typically meets the 4th Sunday of each month, beginning with a potluck supper at 5:30 followed by worship, and concluding by approximately 8:00 pm. Annual events include a weekend retreat, the Easter Sunrise Service and breakfast, an outdoor picnic and service in late June, a BBQ and planning session at the end of August, hosting of the Sunday Sundae Sing, and finally in December a Progressive Dinner.

Welcome

A warm welcome is extended to anyone wishing to experience lively conversation over the supper table and friendships that develop from sharing faith journeys.
