Karen Bridges

Karen Bridges, Intern
Interim Minister 2010 July -- 2011 June

Karen has recently returned to Edmonton (her home town) from Vancouver where she attended the Vancouver School of Theology in preparation for ordained ministry. Karen has been a member of the United Church her whole life. It was in 1994 that she felt called to youth ministry and began working at Riverbend United Church while attending St. Stephen’s College where she received her Master of Theological Studies in 1998. Karen worked with Riverbend United Church for 14 years as the Youth, Young Adult, Children and Young Family Minister. While in Vancouver, she worked as the Interim Minister at St. Stephen’s United Church from January till the end of May, 2010.

Karen enjoys lattes, running, storytelling, singing, golf, and rain just to name a few things and she adores Kiwi (her parrot) and Bailey (Siberian husky dog).

Robertson – Wesley will serve as her internship site for 8 months, and her hope is to be ordained at the end of May. Karen will be focusing on Youth, Young Adult, and Children’s Ministry with a special focus on urban renewal, and outreach within this area. She will also be participating in worship and pastoral care. Sharing our faith with one another is truly one of the most inspiring and life giving things we can do. Karen is looking forward to hearing yours.
