Schulmerich Carillon

The carillon at Robertson-Wesley United Church is composed of 50 English bells and 50 harp bells. These miniature bells are amplified 1000 times to produce the sounds heard every noon. It also has a swinging bell and a tolling bell that can be played separately. Some selections use only the English bells and others use a combination of English and harp. The noon selections are played automatically from a roll. These rolls are no longer available and they are getting quite brittle. The carillon was a gift from the Wolfe family in memory of F.J. (Frank) Wolfe (1887-1961) and was dedicated February, 1961. Frank Wolfe was the founder of Edmonton Motors.
