flowers for worship every Sunday morning

Bring a Bouquet

We would love to help you celebrate special occasions or people in your life by placing flower arrangements in the sanctuary. The flower arrangements need to be brought to the church Sunday morning before 10:00 by the family or individual who purchased them. (They cannot be delivered to the church earlier in the week.) If you would like the occasion acknowledged in the bulletin, information on who or what you are marking would need to be at the church office by the Wednesday prior to the Sunday you are going to bring the flowers. You can call the office 780-482-1587 or email us at mail@rwuc.org.

Take a flower Sundays

One of the best ways (and easy) to say “we are thinking about you” to someone is to bring them a flower. We want to encourage you by providing a flower for you to take with you to visit (whether you are visiting a friend, neighbours, RW member etc.). 6 times a year there will be a gathering of flowers put into Memorial Hall during Fellowship time for you to take one and pass it along to someone with our love.

Honour Sundays

Three Sundays this coming program year we want to have you pre-order a bouquet that will be displayed one week for worship. You will have the opportunity to dedicate your bouquet to someone you wish to honour. This may be loved ones who have passed away or perhaps our heros who inspire you today. The honourees names will be printed in a special bulletin insert those weeks. This is such a special way to honour folks and mark anniversaries and you take the bouquet home with you (or gift it to someone).

Upcoming Honour Sundays:

November 25, 2018 (marking Remembrance day and All Saints celebrations with pointsettas);

February 10, 2019 (to honour those who give us “mid-winter” hope, flower type TBA) and;

April 21, 2019 (Easter Sunday is colourful with hydrangeas!).

The Flower Group celebrated their 80th anniversary with an elegant garden party and tea at the beautiful garden of Betty Jean and David Buchanan. The weather was graciously cooperative, the turn-out was well over 100, and some $6,200 was raised for the Flower Group's anniversary project, the renovation of our stained-glass windows.
