The Gospel of John
& 1, 2, 3 John
Our Bible comprises two sections: the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament, being the scriptures of the Hebrew tradition form the basis and foundation for both Jesus' ministry and John's writings.
John's writings -- gospel and letters -- are the latest and represent the most highly developed stage of New Testament theology. Organized around extensive discourse, it takes us to the full depth and breadth of the understanding of Jesus Christ of the Early Church.
Who is this Jesus -- the Christ -- and what is his impact on life and the world? How do these powerful images -- the Bread of Life; the Word become Flesh; water into wine; the lamb of God -- enable us to hold God's power and love before us every day of our lives?
