Pathways Learning Centre
A forum for theological inquiry. An educational centre for thought-provoking, cutting-edge, progressive Christian faith and theology; founded by and working in close affilliation with Robertson-Wesley.

Cantilon Choirs
A world-class choral organization that shares facilities with Robertson-Wesley and contributes to our worship music on a monthly basis.

Alberta Baroque Ensemble
A professional ensemble of musicians whose repertory is primarily the music of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries and whose performance practices reflect the spirit and style of the period in which the music was composed. ABE uses the Robertson-Wesley sanctuary as their primary performance venue.

Christ Church Anglican
Our nearest neighbouring church, just a block east, with whom we partner in outreach projects such as the food bank and community dinners.

Canterbury Foundation
Seniors' housing organization that operates Canterbury Court, CanterburyManor and Canterbury Lane. Robertson-Wesley conducts a monthly worship service in the chapel at Canterbury.

Edmonton Food Bank
Robertson-Wesley serves as a distribution point for the Edmonton Food bank on a weekly basis.

Choral Morphosis
A community choir for adults 16 and older with a developmental or physical disability. We are a non auditioned community choir open to anyone with a love of music and singing.

The United Church Observer
This site contains highlights of each months issue of the official (award-winning!) magazine of the United Church of Canada. The site includes articles archived since 1997. (In order to subscribe to the Observer, contact the Robertson-Wesley United Church office.)

Spirit Connection
Spirit Connection is an award-winning television program produced by The United Church of Canada at Berkeley Studio and broadcast from coast to coast each week on VisionTV.

WonderCafe
The United Church's discussion site, developed in conjunction with Emerging Spirit, a research and advertising program aimed at promoting the United Church.

Affirm United
The organization within the United Church of Canada that works to provide the full inclusion of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people in the church and in society.

Naramata Centre
The United Church's training centre on Lake Okanagan in the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia. The summer family programs are a popular summer vacation activity for the whole family.

Calling Lakes
The United Church's training centre on Echo Lake in the Qu'Appelle Valley in Saskatchewan.

St. Stephen's College
Ecumenical theological college here in Edmonton, on the University of Alberta campus.

St. Andrew's College
The United Church's theological college for ordination, located in Saskatoon, on the University Campus.

Vancouver School of Theology
United Church seminary at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver.

Alberta Choral Federation
A choral music site with links to many other resources related to choral music.

Alberta Guild of English Handbell Ringers
A not-for-profit organization which provides opportunities for artistic development of Albertans through the sharing, encouragement and appreciation of quality English Handbell Ringing. (Includes links to several other handbell resources.)

Camp Wohelo
CGIT camp that provides many programs, especially summer camps for girls and boys.

Camp Maskepetoon
Edmonton Presbytery camp that provides many programs, especially summer camps for all children.

World Council of Churches
This site provides a glimpse of Christianity world-wide, relationships among denominations internationally, and the global struggle for Christian unity.

Ecumenical Decade to Overcome Violence
Part of the World Council of Churches website, this section focusses on the World Council sponsored Ecumenical Decade to Overcome Violence, which is the decade, 2001 -2010.

Action by Churches Together
This is a source of information on world relief projects and the response of the churches' ecumenical world relief arm of the World Council of Churches. When we make donations for disaster relief through our United Church's Mission and Service Fund, that money is channelled through this agency.

World Alliance of Reformed Churches
WARC is a fellowship of 75 million Reformed Christians in 214 churches in 107 countries. Its member churches are Congregational, Presbyterian, Reformed and United churches with roots in the 16th-century Reformation led by John Calvin, John Knox and others. WARC has a small secretariat in Geneva, Switzerland.

Canadian Council of Churches
Several Christian bodies in Canada speak and act jointly through the Canadian Council of Churches.

Women's Interchurch Council of Canada
This is the national, ecumenical women's organization which sponsors the annual World Day of Prayer and the Fellowship of the Least Coin (among other things).

Edmonton Interfaith Centre
A world-class interfaith centre that works to promote respect, friendship and harmony among people of various faiths, embracing 14 faith groups here in Edmonton.

CGIT (Canadian Girls in Training)
A very informative national site for CGIT, our interdenominational program for teenage girls.

Kairos Canada
This is an amalgamation (formed in July, 2001) of ten Canadian inter-church coalitions that have been working in peace and justice related areas for years.

Taizé
An ecumenical, international community founded in 1940, in Taizé, France, by Brother Roger. A distinctively meditative style of worship has emerged from Taizé which has been followed by Christian communities around the world.

Bissell Centre
The United Church's inner city mission in Edmonton.

George Spady Centre
Provides a supervised environment for those who are under the influence of alcohol and/or other drugs and require assistance in stabilizing their condition.

Inner City Pastoral Ministry
ICPM is an ecumenical Christian ministry of presence serving the people of the inner city of Edmonton. It was started in 1978 by members of the United Church who recognized a need for a church in the Inner City.

Boyle McCauley Health Centre
The community-owned Boyle McCauley Health Centre responds to the unique needs of Edmonton's inner city. Along with Capital Health and other stakeholders, we improve the health of individuals and the community by providing a range of primary health and health promotion services to those with limited access.

Candora Society
A not for profit organization with a mandate to address the needs of low income residents of North East Edmonton, specifically the communities of Rundle and Abbottsfield which comprise about 1,400 low income multi family housing units.

Alberta Committee of Citizens with Disabilities
The Alberta Committee of Citizens with Disabilities is a consumer-directed organization that actively promotes full participation in society for Albertans with disabilities.

Habitat for Humanity: Canada / International
The international, non-profit, non-denominational Christian housing organization.

Greater Edmonton Alliance
The Greater Edmonton Alliance (GEA) is a broad-based organization which works to coalesce, train, and organize the communities of Greater Edmonton across religious, labour, ethnic, class and neighborhood lines for the common good.

Canada Foodgrains Bank
A Christian Response to Hunger
A Christian-based food aid and development organization that collects donations of grain, cash and other agricultural commodities for distribution to the world's hungry

Edmonton City Centre Church Corporation
For about 40 years, "E4C" has been working with people in Edmonton to meet their basic needs, build on their strengths and move towards a better life. Thier diverse, innovative programs help families and individuals of all ages, backgrounds and life situations.

Project Ploughshares
"The name and mandate for Project Ploughshares come from the ancient biblical vision in Isaiah in which the material and human wealth consumed by military preparations are transformed into resources for human development and in which such transformation removes the roots of war itself."

Resources & Programs

Anno Domini
In 2000, the Provincial Museum of Alberta presented the historic art exhibit, Anno Domini: Jesus Through the Centuries, under the direction of curator and author, David J. Goa. The exhibit continues to be available in virtual form on the museum's web site.

Alban Institute
The Alban Institute was founded in 1974 as a major resource for American congregations facing the challenges of a changing society and now stands at the forefront of knowledge and experience regarding congregational vitality and positive trends across denominations and faith traditions.

Banff Men's Conference
An annual United Church men's conference. The site contains information on program and registration for this year's conference.

Bible Quest
An ecumenical Sunday School curriculum used extensively in the United Church in recent years.

Canada Revenue Agency
Information for donors in regard to giving to charity. This page is designed to help people make informed choices about the charities they support.

Centre for Progressive Christianity
An organization to provide resources and networking among liberal, inclusive, pluralistic, compassionate Christians.

Chester Ronning Centre for the Study of Religion and Public Life
Located at the University of Alberta Augustana Campus in Camrose, the centre's purpose is "to cultivate a deep understanding of issues and themes at the intersection of religion, faith and public life and, to do so in the public sphere and in religious spheres."

Evensong Worship Resources
The publishing arm for the work and ministry of Cheryl and Bruce Harding, musicians and worship leaders working with churches of various denominations across Canada, in particular with The United Church of Canada.

Faith and the Common Good (Greening Sacred Spaces)
Peoples of differing faiths and cultures, affirm common values of justice, peace, participation, human rights, ecological inter-relationship, and compassion as cornerstones of a healthy society.

Firelight
Firelight II Bible Learning Curriculum is a Sunday School curriculum from Augsburg-Fortress Press.

Kerygma
This is the website for Kerygma, a systematic and comprehensive program for Biblical study.

Linnea Good
Linnea Good is a singer-songwriter, musical animator and educator whose life's work is to help people celebrate their lives - especially through music.

Living the Questions
A source of curriculum and media for thinking critically about Christianity, designed for both seekers and "church alumni/ae" convinced that Christianity still has relevance in the 21st Century.

Musiklus
Musiklus features the music of Ron Klusmeier, composer of hundreds of hymns, anthems and songs for worship.

Revised Common Lectionary
All of the bible readings throughout the 3-year lectionary cycle are listed together with the text of the passages in the New Revised Standard Version of the Bible. This site is a project of the Vanderbilt Divinity Library.

Strathdee Music
Internationally honored concert artists, worship and song leaders, Jim & Jean Strathdee have written over 400 songs, hymns and anthems, including "I am the Light of the World" and "What Does the Lord Require." Upper Room, The
The popular daily devotion is available on this site as well as many other interesting resources. (The Upper Room daily devotional is also available in booklet form by subscription.)

Westar Institute (home of the Jesus Seminar)
Critical biblical, dedicated to the cultivation of religious literacy and best known for the Jesus Seminar.
